The buzz of the town; heard a pure vegetarian restaurant has newly opened so I decided to try out.

Located in the busy street of Meena bazaar!

Parking is a hassle to find although soon there would be a parking solution. Stay tuned...😆

As you can expect it's a pure veg restaurant.

Mr Bharat owner/chef of the restaurant was aiming to incorporate vegetarianism & also give an ode to Lord Ganesha & hence the name was born.

One thing that is commendable is the incorporation of a vegan menu into a vegetarian cuisine restaurant. Making Indian food accessible to even vegan dietary followers; making sure no foodies get left out.

Talking about interior & decor, it was pretty well themed to fit the vegetarian & Indian restaurant narrative with the subtle focus lights to set the mood.

Covid-19 protocols were also followed by the restaurant, talking to Mrs Rama, owner of the restaurant, she explained how excellent attention to overall sanitization of the restaurant. From using high-quality dishwashing liquid & disinfectants taking all the measures to ensure that customers eat stress-free.

A very well sanitized, clean & hygienic restaurant.

Dabeli Pav #MustTry

I first ordered Dabeli pav & truly it was an instagrammable worthy dish. And it was delicious as well. I couldn't stop eating it. Everything was just on point from the taste to the presentation to the variety of colours incorporated to make the dish look good on-camera & off-camera.

Quick fact: it's a Gujarati dish & mostly preferred as a quick snack.

And for starters, I was served Thread paneer followed by Toofani Bhaji Idli.

Thread Paneer & Mali Afghani Soya Chaap #HighlyRecommend

Thread paneer's freshness was literally oozing with every bite and the fried noodles just added the perfect crunch to it.

Speaking to the chef on this dish, they make their own paneer. For the price you pay, you are guaranteed freshness, healthy & delicious delicacy. In my opinion, this makes your dining experience a lot more memorable.

Toofani Bhaji Idli

Toofani bhaji idli is normal idli but with an interesting touch. Yummy at every bite. Who knew a traditional fermented dish could be eaten in a non-traditional way with so much spice & burst of flavours.

Malai Afghani Soya Chaap #MustTry

Malai Afghani Soya chaap was next in line & by the looks of it you could easily get confused with the non-veg tandoori kebab but the taste was even better than the non-veg. Yes! that's coming from a die-hard non-vegetarian.

Extremely rich in taste, juicy, moist & oozing creaminess at every bite. Just Yumm. #musttry

Chilli Basil Soya Chaap    #HighlyRecommend 100Times

Next, what was served was hands down the best dish I have ever tasted in my life & the winner; Chilli Basil Soya Chaap.

This dish not only tasted like chicken but was even better than chicken & it was not even chicken. 😦 Made from soya, who knew soya could be so versatile. This delicacy had a touch of Chinese cuisine.

Must say this dish was so juicy, tasty, delicious that my taste buds wanted more. Extremely flavorful, burst of spices & juicier than meat. Truly finger- lick'in - good. This dish was just ambrosial.

Fact: they source their soya from a local producer, ensuring diners experience freshness & quality at their max.

Sarson Ka Saag & Makki Di Roti

Moving to their main course, I was served Sarson ka Saag & Makki di roti & wasn't disappointed either. Bringing you the authentic taste of Punjab with such precision, your taste buds will thank you.

Veganesha Special Sandwich    #MustTry

We then tried their Veganesha special sandwich & it was finger-lickin' good served with their one of a kind chuntey.

Chutney

Indeed healthy food shouldn't always taste bad, it can be spicy, tangy, flavourful & give you freshness at the same time.

Puri Bhaji

I also tried their puri bhaji it was just delicious. Spicy & extremely flavourful at every bite. Because we had a kid accompanied with us, we requested them to spice it down & the server was sweet enough & made sure his little fussy guest wasn't disappointed.

Chole Bhature   #HighlyRecommend

Chole bhature was delicious as well. Literally, every dish I reviewed here has been spectacular & this was nonetheless. Creamy & at the same time mouth melting, flavourful but not sharp spices; extremely delicious.

Gulkhand Lassi & Mango Lassi   #MustTry

For drinks I was first served; special Gulkhand lassi & authentic by its look that you'll instantly know it's hand-blended & served with rose petals that made every sip spectacular. Thick, rich & creamy & served in good quantity, it was worth every penny.

Guava Passion Fruit Mojito #HighlyRecommend

Later I was served guava passion fruit mojito, it was just a piquant drink that you will truly enjoy. If this drink had a feeling it would be well labelled as naughty as it had the right amount of sweetness, freshness, spiciness & sassiness. Just absolutely refreshing drink

Kulfi Falooda  #HighlyRecommended

I am a big falooda fan & couldn't resist ordering one here, so I ordered kulfi falooda & god this was one of the best I had. Made primarily with pure kulfi & rabdi this was just pure heavenly.

Cheese Garlic Naan  #HighlyRecommend

Cheese garlic naan was absolutely heavenly. It is extremely hard to find a good cheese garlic naan, sharp taste of garlic subtle by loaded cheese stuffing & cooked in tandoor. Yumm 😋

And lastly, I moved to their desert section.

Mango Phirni

I was served Mango phirni which was decent & extremely light delight to enjoy after a meal.

Very Berry Panna Cotta   #MustTry

But my personal favourite, very berry panna cotta dessert. It was just mind-blowing. You couldn't stop having it. It was just the perfect amalgamation of sweetness & sourness from the berries.

The great thing I realized about this restaurant's dessert was that they were perfectly balanced & extremely light on taste & stomach. Perfect delights to enjoy after your meal.

Let's talk about service; the waiting time after ordering was optimal. I was served by Mr Kishore & team indeed it was a great service. Veganesha serving staff is kid-friendly.

But Veganesha is a one-stop place for all foodies with dietary restrictions. A pure haven for vegetarians & a sheer surprise to non-vegs.

From the price point of view, they are reasonable as you are guaranteed freshness & Quality. The quantity to price ratio is also decent.

They have a widespread menu serving thalis, continental, Italian, drinks & impressive vegan menu & much more. It's truly hard to resist.

Let the food speak for itself & Veganesha won't disappoint you I guarantee you that. Indeed food that is sourced fresh, has a taste no fast-food chains can beat. This was proven true by Veganesha.

Time to pop the question: Would I recommend this restaurant to my fellow foodies?

Yes, positively 100% I would.

My taste buds & my family were cravings vegetarian for dinner. So I grabbed my phone & onto Zomato I was on a hunt to search a veg restaurant. Rated above 4.0 accompanied with great reviews; I found Shri Krishna Bhavan Restaurant.

Located in the heart of Al Karama. RTA parking was also available in front of the restaurant.

Ambience

Talking about ambience & decor; it had a very warm & pleasant ambience & aimed to achieve a minimalistic design but with a statement.

Ambience

You could easily know what this restaurant is all about & what you can expect. #VibeSaysItAll.

Ambience

Covid 19 protocols & guidelines were strictly followed. The restaurant was exceptionally clean & well sanitized.

    What I ordered?

  • Davanagere Benne Dosa
  • Masala Dosa

  • Andhra Bhojanam Thali
  • South Indian Filter Coffee
  • Kala Jamun
  • Kesari Bath

Andhra Bhojanam Thali

Talking about Andhra Bhojanam Thali, it was an unlimited thali & this was my first time trying a cuisine native to Andhra Pradesh.

Thali consisted of the following dishes:

  • Cabbage & carrot porreal
  • Mix vegetable
  • Palak dal
  • Andhra sambar
  • Andhra rasam
  • Ghungura chutney
  • Capsicum bhaji
  • Kesari Bath

Andhra Bhojanam Thali #MustTry

Served traditionally in a banana leaf, this little touch added a unique flavour to all the dishes I ate. Indeed native food is best eaten in its own cultural style.

I requested them to replace rice & roti with all puris & boy it was delicious.

Kesari Bath, Andhra sambar & chutney was just so flavorful. I have had South Indian chutney & sambar before but not quite like this one. It was just flavoursome, truly a delight.

My tastebuds literally experienced the burst of flavours & I truly know they enjoyed every bite 😛

These puris didn't contain soda as most restaurants do add, they were just completely authentic, cooked with love to its utmost perfection.

Masala Dosa

Masala dosa was tasteful. Crispy yet soft with the served chutneys & sambar. yummmm 😋

Davanagere Benne Dosa    #Highly recommend 100x

Davanagere Benne Dosa, if there was a star of the show it has to be this dish. Hands down 🙌

This dish is literally cooked in butter & coconut; extremely delicious, mouth-watering & top class flavours. This dish was appealing in presentation & truly ambrosial in taste.

Mr Dayanand recommended this dish & guaranteed that we will love it. I absolutely gorged myself at this dish. Softness & flavours literally oozing at every bite & the added chutneys & sambar! Oh lord truly divine.

How can I ever exit the restaurant without trying desserts? 😁

Kesari bath #MustTry

So I ordered, their Kesari bath which was a mouth melting sweet dish freshly made with semolina, dry fruits, sugar & ghee. Best consumed when it's Hot!

With just the right sweetness. I could also smell & taste saffron from this delicacy. Indeed extremely light on the tastebuds.

This dessert is perfect for people who don't have a sweet tooth or someone who generally avoids/dislikes sugar.

I absolutely loved it because the sweetness & tastes were in harmony with my taste & likings.

Kala Jamun #HighlyRecommend

I tried their Kala Jamun. Deep-fried & perfectly glazed in sugar syrup & garnished with grated dry coconut. Truly delicious & toothsome at every bite. Your sweet tooth would definitely thank you.

South Indian filter coffee

Finally, I tried their South Indian filter coffee. I absolutely loved it. I dislike sugar in my drinks & prefer strong caffeine drinks (extra dark 😜). And this coffee was just as refreshing & lovely in taste even without sugar.

If you love your coffee with sugar then you are bound to love this coffee-licious drink

Served in traditional Indian style steel cups.

Dubai winters in January & this drink! Cosy isn't it.!!

Let's talk about their service, Mr Dayanand was serving our table & had provided a great service. Waiting time after ordering food was optimal. Mr Dayanand made sure we understood what each dish meant, comprised of & how it was made so we get a gist of the dish & know what to expect.

The service staff's hospitality was very impressive. Mr Raghavendra & his entire service team ensured that we liked the dish & if there were any discrepancies then they didn't hesitate to change it. Overall an excellent service. Truly the entire staff deserve a bonus for their exquisite hospitality services.

Talking about overall quality & taste it has been exceptionally spectacular.

Serving size is excellent as one ordered dish suffices one person completely.

The food in the restaurant was gastronomical but fortunately, not gastritis as some restaurants add unwanted soda in their thalis & that makes it very much pocket friendly but definitely not stomach-friendly. So heads up for anyone who can't digest soda in unwanted dishes, definitely do visit this restaurant, your stomach will thank you. Thumbs up for this practice 👍

Talking about price it is very reasonable & not too expensive. The price to quantity ratio is also excellent as well as the taste & quality was literally worth every fils.

If you are on a budget & want to enjoy a pure veg restaurant then definitely try this wallet-friendly restaurant. Let the food do the talking & rest assured you won't be disappointed & will love to go back every time to eat just that one dish.

Personally, for me, I will always keep coming back for Davanagere Benne Dosa.

Time to pop the question: Would I recommend this restaurant to my fellow foodies?

Yes, positively 100% I would.

After watching Jodha Akbar now for the 100th time, I always wondered if there was any fragment of truth to the lunch platter scene & did really Kings dined like king Akbar (Hrithik Roshan wink).

To experience this, I couldn't find a better place than Maharaja bhog because that is what its name exactly meant 'Dining like a king'.

Mahraja bhog is a pure vegetarian restaurant located in a semi-busy Al Karama street so the parking is a task to find.

The ambience of the restaurant was welcoming with a decent interior & strictly followed covid protocols.

The concept is very much similar to an unlimited Rajasthani thali that is been replenished as much as you can stomach but it's the ambience, the atmosphere, the attitude of the staff & the overall experience that makes you feel like a unisex king. Even I felt like a king.

Bear in mind that their menu is dynamic and changes almost constantly.

    What was served?

  • Condiments: Chutney/salad/pickles, Churi papad, & masala papad
  • Drinks: Kesar chandan sharbat, masala chaas, mango mint lassi & smoked chaas
  • Live chaat station: Pani puri, Papdi chaat & Dahi puri
  • Rice: Steam rice, moon dal khichi & masala pulao
  • Appetizers: Bhujiya cheese rolls & paneer bhurji ring dhokla
  • Indian Breads: Fulka roti, Jawari roti & Kaddu palak Thepla.
  • Dal & Kadhi: Rajasthani kadhi & dal, Gujrati kadhi & dal.
  • Main course: Mutter paneer, Turiya tomato kathiyawadi, dum aloo & bikaneri papad methi shag.
  • Dessert: Apple halwa, Dates nuts kheer & malai kulfi.
  • Hot Beverages: Masala Tea.

If I had to express everything in one word - *Phenomenal*

It is quite hard to write a review on every dish I tasted, cause it will become an exceptionally long review.

However, I absolutely loved the Dessert specifically Dates nuts kheer, malai kulfi, mango mint lassi & everything in the live chaat station. Although Condiments, Rice, Dal & Kadhi were palatable.

Appetizers, Indian Breads & the main course specifically mutter paneer was just absolutely delicious.

All I can say is that the concept of Mahraja Bhog was true to its core, and everything that encompasses from their serving style to their actual food complimented it really well.

The serving staff did not miss a chance to make any of their guests feel any less of a king.

The price to quantity ratio is also very good because it was an unlimited thali with a variety of dishes for a specific price.

There was just so much to eat that even your taste buds could get confused at the end of your meal.

Mahraja Bhog literally has everything to taste which means regardless of what you prefer to eat there will be one thing that you would love the most & one thing you dislike & would return home tasting one thing that you never have tasted before.

Time to pop the question: Would I recommend this restaurant to my fellow foodies?

Yes, 100% I would.

Most of you can relate with those days where your taste buds crave a certain cuisine/type of food (I was craving for vegetarian) so it was just one of those pure veg dinner nights. Zomato came to my rescue & I then selected a pure veg restaurant 'Saarangaa bhojan shala' located in Al raffa area.

RTA parking is available but its availability may vary depending on Indian festivals.

Upon entrance just by the door, you are bound to see the delicious Indian sweets just waiting to be devoured. This restaurant apart from pure non-vegetarian also serves authentic sattvic diet & Jain food.

Serving south indian cuisine, the restaurant had its cuisine's essence greatly reflected in its restaurant. The interior had displayed pictures of all the food they served throughout the walls of the restaurant. Their serving staff was good & cooperative despite the language barrier and made sure that the culture reflects in their serving style, which made them even more authentic.

Another great thing about the restaurant was it didn't feel claustrophobic. It was very spacious and with strict covid 19 protocols being followed it looked furthermore spacious & safe.

What I ordered?

  • Fried Chilli Vegetable
  • Ghee Roast Masala Dosa
  • Kesari Sheera & Puri

Fried Chilli Vegetable

I would consider this as a snack, or more like chilli pakora (veg fritter) which is really not spicy. Perfect to munch on whilst you wait for your main course. Don't be fooled by the title (wink).

Ghee Roast Masala Dosa

Extremely delicious crispy flavorful & mouth-melting. Like the name suggests you could literally smell & taste desi ghee. Served with 4 kinds of chutney, everything had complimented well from their chutney to sambar & their ghee roasted dosa.

Inside of Masala Dosa

However, I am just not satisfied with the quantity ratio of the potato bhaji inside the dosa. With a dosa this big, the potato bhaji doesn't deserve to be just 100gms! (although Highly recommended)

Puri

Kesari Sheera

Kesari Sheera with Puri

It isn't on their menu but it was a mix-match from my & and trust me you won't regret it. Firstly it wasn't super sweet like how you would expect it to be & someone like me who doesn't love too much sweet, puri's had balanced that sweetness out just perfectly. In short, it wasn't too sweet nor too bland. (Highly recommend it & thank me later).

Experience with this restaurant was just traditionally authentic. The highlight would be the kesari sheera with puri. As per the price quotient, whilst serving good quality food it's neither too cheap nor expensive, which would make holes in your pocket for one-time dining. Being a pure veg restaurant it doesn't disappoint you as it offers a wide range of options to choose from in their menu as well as quick service & average waiting time from placing an order to receiving it. Although the only thing that pinched me slightly was their quantity to price ratio; if that could be improved in my opinion that would be phenomenal.

Time to pop the question: Would I recommend this restaurant to my fellow foodies?

Yes, Yes I would.
